The history of the El Retamar fighting bull farm begins in 1996 at the estate Las Tejoneras, through the association between the Pinto Marabotto family and Susana Hurtado Sanchez, who provided cows and stallions of Nuñez origin via El Alamo. Since 2013, the property has been exclusive to the Pinto Marabotto family.
In 2014, a stallion from the Gabriel Rojas fighting bull farm was introduced to refresh the blood line. In 2023, the family acquired the historic branding from Felix Gomez, from Colmenar Viejo, one of the oldest in Spain, thus returning to its town of origin. Currently, the fighting bull farm has a batch of cows and stallions of Nuñez origin, via El Retamar.
Visits can take place throughout the year, during the morning or afternoon and they usually last on average between 60 and 90 minutes, groups can be up to 60 people and are usually carried out in jeeps or trailers. The visit consists of viewing the sanitation facilities of the future breeding cattle and future bullfighting cattle.
A walking tour shows the management facilities, here is seen the plaza de tientas, pigsties, vaccination pens and other spaces where events and different daily tasks with the animals usually take place. Afterwards, in a vehicle adapted to travel the countryside, the breeding and bullfighting animal lots are visited.
In addition to the tour of the El Retamar fighting bull farm, visitors have the opportunity to delight in an exclusive experience: the tasting of 100% Iberian products from the fighting bull farm itself.
