History
Founded in 2002 following the division of the Hernando Gallego brand, this fighting bull farm is one of the few that preserves the legendary Veragua bloodline, the main branch of the Vazqueña breed. Characterized by its varied coat, notable presence, and volume that evoke the ancient bull, it is unmistakable in contemporary fighting bull farming.
Adhering to the 100% Raza Autoctona Lidia since 2013, it has 160 breeding cows and 7 stallions, producing approximately 50-60 males and 60-70 females per litter. Its primary objective is to preserve the purity of the Veragua breed.The main estate, La Cerca del Cura, is located at the entrance to the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.
Experience description
For the visit, off-road vehicles and adapted cars are provided, which guarantee comfort and accessibility. Guided tours will be subject to availability and workload, so it is recommended to consult in advance. Visiting hours may extend throughout the day, in order to accommodate flexibility for visitors.
Private visits last approximately 2 hours. Groups can be modified according to the preferences of the visitors, accepting both small and large groups. This flexibility ensures that everyone can enjoy the experience in an optimal and personalized way.
In La Cerca del Cura visitors will have the opportunity to observe an impressive group of 100 cows along with their stallions. In addition, they will be able to tour different enclosures where all the males are in various stages of their development. From the añojos, which are the youngest, up to erales (a bull that is over 2 years old and is used for breeding), utreros (3 year old bull) and adult bulls, in an experience in which each enclosure offers a detailed vision of the growth and management of these animals.
