HIERRO & DIVISA
History
Located on the road from Villarejo de Salvanes to Fuentidueña de Tajo, the San Isidro fighting bull farm is the result of the purchase, in 2015, by Mr. Raul Tenorio Humanes of the 400 fighting cattle, brand rights, colors, and antiquity from the Gimenez Indarte fighting bull farm in Jaen.
The brand is yellow and red, and its marking is a spear tip. It has been established in Madrid since August 16, 2002, and belongs to the Union de Criadores de Toros de Lidia. The predominant breed or origin is Marques de Domecq.
The fighting bull farm is affiliated with the 100% Raza Autoctona Lidia.
Experience description
Visitors will be welcomed in the main hall, where the oldest mementos of the fighting bull farm are displayed, with an appetizer before starting the experience. During the tour the family tree, pens, and the chapel of San Isidro will be presented. Guided tours, conducted in adapted trailers and 4×4 vehicles, are available year-round, with schedules extending throughout the day.
Guests will enjoy a countryside day, on a unique tour, getting to know all the ages of the bull and their functional characteristics, from birth to adulthood, passing through all the enclosures of the estate. They will learn about the reason for each animal’s presence in its designated area, exploring in detail the infrastructure, pens, handling areas, sanitation areas, alleys, and their purpose on the estate.
The tour concludes with a walk through the bullring, where the bravery of the future breeding bulls and cows of the fighting bull farm is tested. Among other complementary activities, the estate offers bull-testing performed by a professional bullfighter, as well as a spectacle of recortes (bull dodging), quiebros (artful dodges), and jumps.
After the visit and the countryside tour a country-style meal is offered. Budget depends on the number of guests.
