Molina Fighting Bull Farm

HIERRO Y DIVISA

History

The Molina fighting bull farm was founded by Mr. Jose Luis Molina, a rejoneador (mounted bullfighter) active for over 11 years, in 1990. Initially, it specialized in breeding purebred Spanish-Lusitano horses. The current bovines are descendants of cows and bulls bred by the El Estoque and Luis Antonio Carabias fighting bull farms, both with pure Domecq lineage, one of the most important lineages present in the finest fighting bull farms in Spain.

Currently, and since Mr. Jose Luis retired from the profession, the fighting bull farm is dedicated to bullfighting events, “capeas” (bullfighting practices with capes), visits to fighting bull farm, and other related events.

Experience description

The visit begins at the entrance to the fighting bull farm, where a tour of the facilities takes place, both inside the corrals and in the field, adapted to the number of people, whether by car or on foot. Throughout the tour, explanations are offered about how the fighting bull farm works where it can be seen the animals, fauna and flora.

Guided tours are available throughout the year, mainly in the morning to witness the animals being fed and understanding how the fighting bull farm works. Groups can consist of 2 to 20 people and it is important to highlight that the farm is located in an imperial eagle habitat, in the middle of a protected area, which guarantees a calm tour filled with nature.

It begins touring the corrals and fields to observe the fighting bull farm, the breeding process is explained and some calves can be observed, along with their mothers. There is a time set apart for a Q&A session.

On some visits, more activities may be offered, such as bullfighting exhibitions or recortes (bullfighting movements) and capea (skillful passes at the bull with the cape), in which visitors are actively involved.

The fighting bull farm is able to offer appetizers, snacks, lunches and dinners, highlighting Spanish and local products. Likewise, cocktails and barbecue are offered and food stations can also be set up.
